Design Technician or Senior Designer – Modular Builder

Full Time Permanent – 40 hpw

Salary: Negotiable based on experience

Due to our continued growth and expansion, we are looking to appoint a Design Technician or Senior Designer to undertake a key role within our thriving Technical Department. The main role is to generate and manage technical information required for projects and to deliver a high standard of design output information.

We seek a highly motivated, organised individual who thrives when working in a fast paced environment towards challenging deadlines, whilst being commercially astute and able to recognise and interpret project scopes to providing the most commercially viable compliant design solutions. A knowledge of modular construction would be a strong advantage, though is not essential as training will be provided. A sound knowledge and ability in use of AutoCAD 2D software and AutoDesk Revit software is essential, though in house training and continuous improvement will be provided.

Key Responsibilities include:

Primarily office based with opportunities to visit sites as and when required, and participate in client meetings as required;

To advise the project team of any commercial impacts of design changes;

Provide technical support to estimating and sales depts as required;

Be able to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines without compromising the accuracy or quality of the design output;

Manage all technical aspects of your allocated live projects including, but not limited to:

• design stage approval
• managing and collating sub-contractors designs
• managing regulatory bodies where required
• produce necessary manufacturing / fabrication drawings and details
• maintain and issue drawings registers
• communicate and liaise with third party Structural Engineers and other design consultants
