Integra Buildings has been given the go-ahead for a major expansion of its East Yorkshire base.

The fast-growing company, which designs and manufactures cutting-edge modular buildings, is to develop six acres of land next to its site in Paull, east of Hull, after planning permission was granted by East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

Work is due to start later this year on the expansion, which will increase the site footprint to over 14 acres and provide room to meet Integra’s current and future needs.

The development will create 20 new jobs, secure the company’s future on the site as one of the leading employers in the Holderness area, and is key to the management’s ambitions to double revenues to £60m within three years.

The land, which was purchased last year, will provide extra storage, loading and dispatch areas for Integra’s modular buildings, which are manufactured on site before being delivered to developments around the UK.

An additional production facility is also due to be built as part of the award-winning company’s long-term growth plans.

Gary Parker, Integra’s Managing Director, said he was delighted to secure planning permission.

“This is a landmark moment for the company,” Mr Parker said. “We’re bursting at the seams, so expanding the site is critical to accelerating our growth and realising our full potential.

“We’ve set out plans to double our turnover and become a £60m business within three years, and I’m confident we’re now firmly on track to achieve that ambition.

“Securing our future here in Paull is fantastic news for our employees and our supply chain, the vast majority of which is based within East Yorkshire.

“Our plans will create new jobs and bring new investment to the area, so we’re delighted that the council has approved them.”

The expansion will mark the latest chapter in the remarkable growth of Integra, which is at the forefront of the UK’s rapidly expanding modular construction sector. The company’s ever-growing customer base ranges from major construction firms, to local authorities and other public sector bodies.

Integra, which was founded in 1997, has invested more than £3m transforming its operations at the Paull site, including a state-of-the-art office building, which was self-built on site using cutting-edge modular construction techniques and serves as a showcase for the quality of facilities the business creates for clients.

Last month, Integra was included in the annual Ward Hadaway list of Yorkshire’s ‘Fastest 50’ growing companies. The company was recognised for a sustained period of growth after turnover increased from just under £17m in 2017 to almost £28m in 2019, while pre-tax profits more than doubled from £700,000 to almost £1.5m.

“We’ve been on a fantastic journey of growth over the past few years,” Mr Parker added. “We’re excited by the opportunity to move to the next level.”
